Is Internet Marketing Training By Marketing Gurus a Complete Disgrace ?

Article by Tom J McGowan

Is internet marketing training by so-called marketing gurus a complete disgrace ? The question is open for debate, but the fact remains that approximately 95% or more of people that attempt to become internet marketers are failing or quitting at becoming internet marketers, and many newbie marketers are questioning the teaching and methods they are receiving from the gurus. The number of people failing is nothing short of stunning. The question is Why ? Why are so many people not figuring out how to make a living at internet marketing, while the 5% or less are making hundreds of thousands of dollars, in some cases, millions and millions of dollars, and other marketers are barely making a dime ? It deserves a closer look.

One of the ways internet marketing gurus make their money is by selling electronic books or e-books that would-be newbie marketers generally snap up, usually because they are so desperate for any internet marketing information, that will help them in their neverending quest to 'crack the code.' These e-books vary in cost from anywhere from to ,000 or more. Many internet marketers have spent tens of thousands of dollars with very little to show for their expenditures or for the time they put in trying to learn the internet marketing techniques, internet marketing videos, and internet marketing secrets that the gurus put in their e-books. It is incredibly frustrating and nauseating for the newbies, obviously for good reasons.

The question is why are the newbies failing ? Are the marketing gurus just pure geniuses or are the newbies just completely clueless ? Very, very doubtful on both counts. The answer probably lies in the teaching they are getting. Gurus usually had some kind of mentor to show them the ropes. They would probably admit, or at least they should admit, that they are eternally grateful to their first mentors that got them started on the road to internet riches. Newbies, more than likely, are not getting that mentorship that seems to be required to steer them on the path to a new profitable career.

Since most newbies are not getting that mentorship, they are having to rely on the internet marketing videos, internet marketing techniques, and internet marketing secrets, or so the gurus say about the information they put in their e-books, and this is where the newbies get disgusted and frustrated, with a feeling of hopelessness. Many e-books are outdated, incomplete, or flat out wrong. Many newbies would love to experience the internet marketing lifestyle, which includes working from home, a limited amount of hours working on the computer, and quite a bit of vacation time traveling and going to various internet marketing seminars.

However, they are not getting to experience that lifestyle because of the deficient, shallow, and flat out misinformation that the gurus are cranking out, which, unfortunately, the newbies keep swallowing whole. It is a huge problem in this field, and the only present solution would seem to be for the newbies to be very, very careful when thinking about buying an e-book. Force the gurus to crank out only quality, informative information rather than buy just any old misguided misinformation they slop together. (It is as if the gurus want to keep the internet all to themselves.) Until newbies force them to change their ways, the gurus will probably keep cranking out the junk. Newbies, you have been warned. Beware.
